Department of Interior Leader Addresses National Mining Group

Casey Hammond Shares Trump Administration’s Public Lands Policy at AEMA’s 123rd Annual Meeting

 

Casey Hammond, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Land and Minerals Management for the Department of the Interior addressed the Welcoming Luncheon today at American Exploration & Mining Association’s (AEMA) 123rd Annual Meeting, Exposition & Short Courses in Reno, Nevada.

“The BLM will be re-embracing its mission of multiple use. Its’s important because when lands are working, Americans are working,” said Casey Hammond. Mr. Hammond also stressed the importance of mining to America’s economy and for providing good paying jobs.

 “Few things are more important to mining than access to Public Lands. Mr. Hammond’s message that the US is ‘open for business’ for responsible modern mining is welcome to our membership. AEMA looks forward to working with the Trump Administration and providing the vital mined materials that make modern life possible.” said Laura Skaer, AEMA Executive Director.

The Annual Meeting is the second largest annual mining convention in the U.S., featuring 250 exhibitors, a core shack, 27 technical sessions and over 100 speakers, and will bring more than 2,000 people to the Reno area. The Annual Meeting runs through Friday, December 8th.
