NATIONAL MINING GROUP SUPPORTS ARIZONA MINE

RESOLUTION COPPER PROJECT WILL PROVIDE JOBS AND MINERALS CRITICAL TO SUSTAINABLE LIVING

American Exploration & Mining Association (AEMA) has filed comments in support of the Resolution Copper Project in Superior, Arizona. The Resolution Copper Mine will bring over 3,700 jobs to the area and $61 billion to Arizona’s economy during the projected 40 year life of the mine.

Laura Skaer, AEMA Executive Director said “Resolution Copper is a leader in the industry and maintains the highest standards for sustainable mining practices and environmental stewardship. We strongly urge the regulatory agencies to move this responsible project forward.”

The mine project is undergoing a federal environmental review, which is expected to take several more years. Once the mine is operational, Resolution Copper could potentially supply 25% of the copper the United States needs for modernizing the grid and producing products like solar panels, hybrids vehicles, electronics, medical supplies and defense resources.

“This world-class project will create high paying jobs, help secure the U.S. supply chain and lessen America’s dependence on foreign sources of critical and strategic metals. It also will assure a bright economic future for generations of Arizona families,” Skaer added.
